Amaircare Air Purifiers

Every individual has a physical tolerance level for particulates and chemicals in the air. You don't need asthma or allergies to feel the effects of poor indoor air quality, and if you live with a respiratory condition, filtration quality matters even more.

Amaircare's HEPA is considered one of the best on the market, with roughly 100 sq ft of HEPA material in its full-size cartridge:

  • 99.96% effective at 0.1 microns
  • 99.98% effective at 0.3 microns

Amaircare's carbon stage can also be customized for light, moderate, or heavy VOCs.

Coverage ratings are based on 1 ACH (air change per hour). Need assistance? Contact us by email or phone, and we can help with sizing.

Why We Recommend Amaircare

Amaircare's HEPA is considered one of the best on the market, and the square footage of the HEPA is a big reason why. Its full-size HEPA cartridge holds roughly 100 sq ft of HEPA material. More filter material means more surface area to capture fine particles and a longer-lasting filter.

Another reason is Amaircare's Easy Twist technology. The HEPA cartridge twists into place much like a jar lid and locks in, so the filter is completely sealed and polluted air can't leak around it. A filter change takes about 10 seconds.

Amaircare also keeps air purification simple and honest. It uses proven mechanical filtration with no ozone-producing technology. It lists the delivered airflow (CFM) of each unit with all filters in place, so the numbers you see reflect real-world performance.

A Different Order of Filtration

What sets Amaircare apart is the order of filtration. Many other brands use a prefilter, then carbon, then HEPA. Amaircare uses a prefilter, then its large HEPA, then carbon:

  • Stage 1: Prefilter. Captures larger particles and protects the HEPA.
  • Stage 2: Large Perfect Seal HEPA. Captures fine particulates and allergens.
  • Stage 3: Carbon. Adsorbs odors, gases, and VOCs.

Capturing fine particles before they reach the carbon lets the carbon stage focus on what it does best: adsorbing gases and odors. Learn more about HEPA air purifiers, or read our breakdown of the NASA study on HEPA filters and nanoparticles.

Customize Your Third Stage of Filtration

Amaircare is also very versatile. You can choose the third stage of filtration based on your VOC concerns:

  • Light VOCs: a carbon blanket
  • Moderate VOCs: a carbon canister
  • Heavy VOCs only: when VOCs are your only focus and they're heavy, the HEPA can be removed and replaced with a 30 lb carbon canister. (The 30 lb is the weight of the canister, not the carbon inside it.)

You can also tailor the carbon to what you want to reduce, with blends including standard, Formaldezorb, Multizorb, and Acidzorb. Tell us what you're dealing with, and we'll help you choose the right setup. Learn more about carbon air purifiers and air purifiers for chemicals and VOCs.

Built to Order, Built to Last

Because many Amaircare units are custom made, they can take longer to ship than most brands. We think they're worth the wait. Amaircare units are built to last, and we have clients who have had their units in the field for over 20 years.

Portable, Whole-Home, or Commercial?

Amaircare offers three main types of air filtration:

  • Portable units clean the air in a specific room, from bedrooms and small offices to large living spaces.
  • Whole-home systems install into your existing ductwork to deliver clean air to every room. They run on their own fan, so they keep filtering even when your furnace isn't running and won't affect your forced-air system's warranty.
  • Commercial air scrubbers handle larger facilities, industrial spaces, and heavy VOC loads.

Sizing Your Amaircare Air Purifier

Amaircare rates coverage at 1 air change per hour (ACH). Residential units are rated by square feet, and commercial units are rated by cubic feet, which accounts for ceiling height. Amaircare recommends at least 1 ACH for a typical home and 2 or more if you have a respiratory illness. With heavy contaminants, more than 1 air change is necessary, and our clients frequently aim for 5 or more ACH depending on square footage.

We generally recommend not undersizing. A unit can always run on a lower speed, but it can never exceed its maximum capacity. Use our air changes per hour calculator to see what a unit can do in your space, or contact us by email or phone.

Amaircare Filter Replacement

Following Amaircare's guidelines, plan to replace the prefilter about every 4 months, the inner carbon blanket about every 6 months, the VOC canister once a year, and the HEPA every 3 to 5 years. Smoking or industrial use can shorten filter life, so check your filters visually in those settings. The filter change indicators on select portable units are timers and do not measure actual filter condition. Shop Amaircare replacement filters, and sign up for our free Filter Reminder Program so you never miss a change.

Amaircare Warranty

The motor is covered by a 5-year warranty, and all other components (except filters) carry a 1-year warranty. Industry standard is that filters are not covered under warranty. Exceptions may apply. To process a warranty claim, Amaircare requires a valid serial number and original proof of purchase.

Amaircare Air Purifier FAQs

What makes Amaircare different from other air purifiers?

Amaircare places its large HEPA before the carbon, so fine particles are captured before air reaches the carbon stage. Its full-size HEPA cartridge holds roughly 100 sq ft of HEPA material, and the third stage can be customized for light, moderate, or heavy VOCs.

Is Amaircare true HEPA?

Yes. Amaircare HEPA filters capture 99.98% of particles at 0.3 microns and 99.96% at 0.1 microns, exceeding the 99.97% HEPA standard. For heavy VOCs only, the HEPA can be replaced with a large carbon canister.

Do Amaircare air purifiers produce ozone?

No. Amaircare uses mechanical filtration (prefilter, HEPA, and carbon) with no ozone-producing technology.

How does Amaircare calculate coverage?

Coverage ratings are based on 1 air change per hour (ACH). If you have respiratory concerns or heavier contaminants, plan for 2 or more air changes per hour and consider sizing up.

Why do Amaircare units take longer to ship?

Many Amaircare units are custom made, so lead times are often longer than with other brands. We have clients who have had their Amaircare units in the field for over 20 years.

What does the Amaircare warranty cover?

The motor is covered for 5 years, and all other components except filters are covered for 1 year. A valid serial number and original proof of purchase are required for warranty claims.
