Air Purifiers for Hurricanes

Save $50 on these units recommend for hurricane recovery:  Coupon Code: health50

After a hurricane, our clients have benefited greatly from the following air purifiers.  It is not uncommon that mold is an issue after a hurricane; however, there are many other indoor air contaminants such as fine particulate matter, formaldehyde (renovations), odors, gases etc.  We understand just because the water may be gone, doesn't mean that you are done with the clean up and burden, and we are here to help.

Because long term exposure to fine particulate contaminants can lead to respiratory issues and even asthma, we recommend a True HEPA filter if possible.

It is important to use enough units and/or a whole home unit to improve the air in most homes.

Helpful Tips: When using portable units in a heavily contaminated area, it is recommended to use more than one unit if possible so increase air circulation and filtration. This way you can run the units on medium instead of high also.

If budget allows only for 1 unit, we recommend placing the unit either in your bedroom to create a safe zone where you sleep or in the most active area of your home to create a healthy, safe place to relax. (continue reading)

Helpful Tips: When using portable units in a heavily contaminated area, it is recommended to use more than one unit if possible so increase air circulation and filtration. This way you can run the units on medium instead of high also.  You will also extend the filter life with more units when contaminants are heavy.

For example, if choosing AllerAir products, a good choice is the Vocarb unit and a better choice is the D Vocarb unit. When using Austin Air Healthmate Plus or Amaircare Vocarb 3000, it is often recommended to use 2 or more units depending on the size of the facility to compliment each other in the commercial setting. Field Controls plan on 1 unit per 350-500 sq ft to error on the conservative side. This is actually a good rule of thumb for any of the portable units.

If budget allows only for 1 unit, we recommend placing the unit either in your bedroom to create a safe zone where you sleep or in the most active area of your home to create a healthy, safe place to relax.
