How ActivePure® Technology Purifies the Air

ActivePure® Technology works proactively. Instead of depending on dwell time inside the unit, it puts purifying molecules to work out in the room. As oxygen and water molecules in the air move through the unit's ActivePure® honeycomb matrix, they're converted into several kinds of molecules, including hydroxyls. These are released back into your space, where they help reduce airborne contaminants for as long as the Beyond Guardian Air is running.

According to Aerus, ActivePure® Technology has been proven to reduce up to 99.9% of many common types of bacteria, viruses and mold in indoor spaces. Aerus reports that in extensive unaffiliated lab testing, ActivePure® Technology significantly reduced numerous contaminants and pathogens, including Aspergillus niger endospores, Aspergillus versicolor, Bacillus globigii, Botrytis cinerea, Candida auris, Clostridium difficile, E. coli, Erwinia herbicola, H1N1 and H5N8 influenza, Legionella pneumophila, Listeria monocytogenes, monkeypox virus (MPXV), MRSA, MS2 bacteriophage, murine norovirus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB), PhiX-174, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), SARS-CoV-2, Salmonella enterica, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis.

Aerus also notes that ActivePure® Technology does not replace the need to follow public health guidelines and should be used as a complementary technology.

True HEPA and Carbon Filtration

Alongside ActivePure® Technology, the Beyond Guardian Air uses a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.1 micron. An activated carbon filter and multiple carbon brushes, which aid in the capture of contaminants, complete the system. Together, they help reduce VOC gases, smoke and odors without the use of ozone.

Quiet, Durable and Easy to Use

Aerus designed the Beyond Guardian Air for whisper-silent operation, starting at 32 dB(A) on speed 1. Its durable galvanized steel housing helps muffle sound, and built-in carry handles make it easy to move from room to room. It has four fan speeds and uses 23 to 80 watts. It's portable, easy to use and low maintenance, with nothing to install. A safety switch also turns the power off automatically when you open the front door to change the filter.

Sizing and Placement

Aerus rates the Beyond Guardian Air for up to 2,500 sq. ft. (232 m²) with uniform air diffusion and recommends a ceiling height of no more than 10 feet. Every space is a little different, so Aerus recommends customizing your setup based on HVAC system capabilities and settings, airflow around walls and doors, air pressure, ambient temperature and humidity, variable occupant density, known VOC concentrations and other layers of protection.

For best results, place the unit away from the wall where air can move freely into, around and out of it, and keep it clear of curtains, bedding and other soft furnishings.
