Aerus Mobile Car Air Purifier: ActivePure® Technology on the Go

The Aerus Mobile car air purifier (Model A1018D) lets you take patented ActivePure® Technology with you wherever you go. At just 8 ounces, it provides 24/7 air purification and surface decontamination in small indoor and personal spaces while the unit is running, from your car to a hotel room, small office or camper. It comes with both a 12-volt DC car adapter and a 100–240 volt AC adapter, so you can use it in your car or plug it into a wall outlet at home, in a hotel room or at the office. Aerus rates it for up to 50 sq. ft. for single-occupant use, which makes it great for small spaces.

How ActivePure® Technology Works

Many air purifiers can only clean the air that travels through them. ActivePure® Technology is proactive. Inside the Aerus Mobile's ActivePure® cell, a honeycomb matrix transforms oxygen and water molecules from the air into several types of molecules, including hydroxyls. The unit releases those molecules into your car or room, where they help reduce contaminants in the air and on surfaces while the unit is running. Because the work happens out in your space, it doesn't depend on how long air stays inside the unit.

Aerus reports that in extensive unaffiliated lab testing, ActivePure® Technology has been proven to reduce up to 99.9% of many common types of bacteria, viruses and mold in indoor air and on surfaces. The contaminants and pathogens on Aerus's tested list include SARS-CoV-2, H1N1 and H5N8 influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), MRSA, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria and Aspergillus mold. The Aerus Mobile also reduces VOC gases, smoke and odors without the use of ozone. Aerus notes that ActivePure® Technology does not replace the need to follow public health guidelines and should be used as a complementary technology.

ActivePure® was inducted into the Space Foundation's Space Technology Hall of Fame in 2017, and according to Aerus, it's the only air cleaning technology awarded the Space Foundation's Certified Space Technology seal.

Portable for Car and Travel

The Aerus Mobile measures about 1 inch tall, 3.6 inches wide and 6 inches deep without its base, so it's easy to take along. The base is designed with multiple mounting options, and the wire stand lets you use the unit on its own, setting it down or hanging it wherever it fits best. Touch-sensitive settings make it easy to operate, and multiple settings let you customize it for your car, a hotel room, a small office or a camper.

Use the 12-volt DC car adapter in your vehicle. Indoors, the 100–240 volt, 50/60 Hz AC adapter with interchangeable plugs lets you run it from a standard wall outlet at home, in a hotel room or at the office.

Sizing

Aerus rates the Aerus Mobile for up to 50 sq. ft. (4.6 m²) with uniform air diffusion, for single-occupant use. Coverage depends on how many people share the space. Because so many things affect results, from HVAC settings and airflow to temperature, humidity, VOC levels and other layers of protection, every space is a little different.
