Airpura T400 air purifier is specifically designed for tobacco smoke and to remove 4000 chemicals, tars and gases found in tobacco smoke. Covers up to 1000 sq ft depending on model and speed. The deep carbon bed adsorbs over 4000 harmful chemicals, gases and at least 60 carcinogens.

Please note: As of 2021, the gaskets are now neoprene.

A HEPA-Barrier is used in Airpura's C and DLX models. The HEPA-Barrier is 95% at 1 micron since the space is predominantly used for carbon for VOC, gases and odor adsorption. The C and DLX units focus primarily on VOCs, gases, and odors, instead of ultrafine (.3 microns) particulates like a True HEPA canister. A True HEPA Canister is 99.97% effective to .3 microns.

The T700 uses a HEPA-Barrier, not a True HEPA so it filters to 1 micron, not .3 micron, but is stronger for VOCs, odors, and gases.

Also keep in mind that numerous factors come into play when considering an air purifier such as but not limited to the contaminants, coverage (sufficient air changes for the level of off gasing), speed of off-gasing, particulate matter, sensitivities of the consumer and much more.

The usages shown above are simply suggestions. Air Purification is not a black-and-white science. There is a lot of gray area that affects the results such as things that are out of our control like humidity or even the location of the unit. I wish there was just 1 unit for every need, it would make our job much easier, but there are trade-offs like sound for power and budget for filtration.
