How Respiray with Activated Carbon Works?
Respiray Wear A+ features a three-stage filtration system that purifies the air in real-time, ensuring that you’re shielded from airborne irritants:
1. Washable Pre-Filter: Traps larger particles like dust, extending the life of the main filter. 2. HEPA Filter: Captures 97.6% of airborne allergens, including dust, pollen, and mold spores. 3. Activated Carbon Layer: Absorbs odors, chemicals, and harmful VOCs, reducing exposure to perfumes and chemical fumes.

3. The constantly renewing cloud of clean air provides instant protection from harmful particles. |

The average adult breathes 6-10 liters per minute. Wear A+ purifies 70 liters per minute (700%) on the normal setting and 120 liters per minute (1200%) on the higher setting. This ensures Respiray purifies more than 10 times the air than needed for breathing, minimizing air mixing and providing optimal protection.

Enjoy a continuous stream of purified air directed around your nose and mouth, providing targeted protection precisely where you need it most.

• Where can I buy replacement filters?
You can choose between HEPA filters, perfect for reducing allergens and defending against viruses, or Activated Carbon HEPA filters, which not only filter allergens and virus particles but also absorb VOCs, fragrances, and chemicals. Explore your options here
• How often should the filters be changed?
Wear A+ with Activated Carbon comes with two replaceable H11 HEPA filters with an activated carbon layer, so you don’t need to worry about the filters for half a year. Each filter lasts around 3 months or 200 working hours. When it’s time to change the filter, the blue indicator LED on the device will turn on.
• Which filter does Wear A+ with Activated Carbon use?
Wear A+ with Activated Carbon uses a highly effective H11 HEPA filter combined with an activated carbon layer. The HEPA component filters out 97.6% of allergens, pathogens, and other harmful particles, while the activated carbon layer absorbs volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors. This combination is effective against air pollution, chemical sensitivities, odors, pathogens, and allergens.
• Does Wear A+ with Activated Carbon really work?
Absolutely! Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon builds upon the proven technology of our original Wear A+ device. The combination of HEPA filtration and activated carbon is a well-established and scientifically proven method for air purification. HEPA filters are known for their efficiency in capturing allergens, pathogens, and particulate matter, while activated carbon is widely recognized for its ability to absorb gases, VOCs, and odors. This makes Wear A+ with Activated Carbon particularly suited for addressing chemical sensitivities and fragrance allergies, in addition to particle filtration.
• How is Wear A+ with Activated Carbon different from other air purifiers?
Wear A+ with Activated Carbon is a groundbreaking solution, being the world’s first unobstructed wearable air purifier designed specifically for fragrance allergies and multiple chemical sensitivity. Unlike traditional recommendations for these conditions, which often involve wearing masks with valves that can be uncomfortable and obstructive, our device offers a more comfortable alternative. The proximity to an air purifier directly influences the quality of the air you breathe. Traditional stationary air purifiers require time and energy to filter the air within a room, restricting your movement to a fixed location. In contrast, Wear A+ with Activated Carbon offers a completely hands-free experience, unlike many portable alternatives. This allows you to freely eat, drink, use your hands, and engage with others while benefiting from air purification at close proximity. Thanks to a dedicated team of scientists and engineers who developed 117 prototypes, Wear A+ is engineered to optimize airflow speed and angle. This design creates a protective “shield” of clean air, effectively blocking allergens, VOCs, and odors from being inhaled. By wearing the device, you can enjoy maximum protection with every breath for as long as you have it on.
• Does Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon help against allergens?
Yes, the version you're currently viewing includes HEPA 11 filters with an activated carbon layer that filters out 97.6% of allergens, such as dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and mold. If fragrance sensitivity and VOCs aren’t your main concern, we recommend the Wear A+ with HEPA H12 filters, which remove 99.9% of airborne allergens. Click here to learn more.
• Does Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon help against viruses?
Yes, the HEPA 11 filter with Activated Carbon is effective at filtering virus particles and can serve as an additional layer of protection against COVID-19. However, if fragrance sensitivity and VOCs are not your main concern, we recommend the Wear A+ with HEPA H12 filters, which offers even greater virus filtration efficiency compared to the H11 HEPA filter with an Activated Carbon layer. Click here to learn more.
• Does Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon also help against air pollution?
The HEPA 11 filter with Activated Carbon is highly effective against air pollution. The HEPA filter captures particulate matter, including tiny particles like dust and soot, while the Activated Carbon layer absorbs harmful substances from vehicle emissions and industrial processes, such as VOCs and chemicals. The Respiray Wear A+ excels at removing these pollutants from the air, helping to reduce your exposure to air pollution.
• Is Respiray Wear A+ Ozone-Free?
Yes, Respiray Wear A+ is completely Ozone-free.
• Does Respiray Wear A+ release any radiation, EMFs, or cancer-causing substances?
No, Respiray Wear A+ does not use wireless technology like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, so it is definitely much safer than many other devices. The device does contain electronic components but these have been tested against the required electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards and the results were well within the permitted levels. The materials used to build the device are also safe – they have been tested according to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards.
• What's the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) on Wear A+ with Activated Carbon?
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is somewhat irrelevant for Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon because it is designed to clean only the necessary area in front of the wearer’s face, not the entire 1,008-cubic-foot room used for CADR measurement. Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon has two airflow speeds of 2.5 and 4.2 cubic feet per minute and needs to clean an area volume of 0.1 cubic feet. This means Respiray Wear A+ with Activated Carbon makes 1270 or 2800 air changes per hour, significantly outperforming conventional air purifiers that typically aim for just 6 air changes per hour.
• Does it work outdoors?
While the device is primarily designed for indoor use, it can also be effectively used outdoors, especially on calm days. However, its efficacy may vary depending on outdoor conditions such as wind speed and air turbulence.
• What type of charger does Respiray Wear A+ need?
Wear A+ is charged with a USB-C cable that is provided with the product. USB-C is widely used for charging mobile phones and laptops.
• How long does the battery last?
The battery lasts approximately 8 hours when using normal airflow, and up to 3 hours on the higher airflow setting. The device can be charged via USB-C while in use. Tip: Extend usage time by connecting to a power bank. The device functions normally while charging from an external power source.
• Which airflow should I use?
Wear A+ with Activated Carbon offers two different airflow settings. For fragrance allergies and chemical sensitivities, or when moving around or outdoors, we recommend using the higher airflow setting for maximum protection.
• Will Respiray Wear A+ make my eyes dry?
Respiray Wear A+ does create a light breeze around the face, but as long as you don’t suffer from dry eye syndrome or Sjögren’s syndrome it shouldn’t cause you any problems. If you suffer from one of these conditions, we advise you to consult with your doctor first.
• Can children wear Respiray Wear A+?
Respiray Wear A+ is available in one size only, with an adjustable strap that makes it easy to alter the distance between the user’s face and the device, meaning it can be comfortably worn by people of various heights and body types. It is not recommended that Wear A+ is worn by children under 13 years of age.
• How comfortable is Respiray Wear A+ to wear?
Respiray Wear A+ is super light. It is comfortable to wear thanks to its ergonomic design and the included strap cushion provides extra comfort. When 200 participants tested Wear A+, only 3 people reported that it made their eyes dry, and only 2 reported that the device was heavy to wear. Most people were positively surprised by how comfortable it is and how lightweight the device actually feels.
• Can Respiray Wear A+ be worn on airplanes?
Yes, Respiray Wear A+ can be worn safely on airplanes. It is an ideal solution to have before the airplane ventilation system is turned on to protect yourself against airborne particles such as viruses, allergens and other airborne pollutants. However, it may be slightly less effective than in a normal indoor environment as soon as airplane ventilation systems are turned on as they are powerful enough to create air movement, which could potentially affect the allergen-free air zone created by the device.
