There are many cleaning products that should be avoided in order to help protect the skin of children, especially household cleaning products. There are harmful chemical ingredients in cleaning products such as Formaldehyde, Ammonia, and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS).

Formaldehyde is a flammable gas. Exposure to it can irritate ears, eyes, and nose as well as the throat if the chemical is inhaled, ingested, or comes in close contact with skin. Ammonia is a poisonous, colorless, odorless gas. It is very harmful to children under six years old. Exposure to ammonia can cause blindness and lung damage. Over exposure to ammonia can cause burning sensation in the eyes, nose, and throat. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) can cause harm to hair, skin and eyes. Many shampoos contain SLS. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate can cause cancer as well as immune system issues.

There are many alternatives to these harmful cleaning products while still maintaining a healthy, clean home and body. Many alternative cleaning products exist that can be made naturally. This can help reduce skin reactions and allergies significantly.
