The Airfree P1000 is a completely silent, maintenance-free air purifier for rooms up to 450 sq ft. Instead of trapping contaminants in a filter, it destroys them with heat. Its patented Thermodynamic Sterilizing System (TSS™) ceramic core heats air to about 400°F, and according to Airfree, up to 99.9% of the microorganisms that pass through it are destroyed, including mold spores, bacteria, viruses, pollen, pet dander and dust mite allergens.
There are no fans, no filters and no replacement parts. Just plug it in and let it work. That makes the P1000 a top choice for bedrooms, nurseries, home offices and any room where noise and space are a concern.
How Airfree TSS™ Technology Works
Airfree uses the same natural concept as boiling water: heat destroys microorganisms.
Room air enters the bottom of the unit by natural convection.
Inside the ceramic core’s mini-ducts, microorganisms are destroyed at temperatures close to 400°F.
The sterilized air passes over a cooling plate.
Clean air is released back into the room.
Because the core is heated, its mini-ducts are self-cleaning. Airfree says the core keeps its sterilizing efficiency no matter how long it runs and is designed to last about 20 years with no maintenance.
Excellent for Mold
The always-on ceramic core continuously destroys airborne mold spores, which helps keep new mold colonies from forming on walls, carpets, furniture, food and leather items. It’s a smart fit for basements, laundry rooms, mud rooms, closets and pantries, as well as for homes with asthma and allergy sufferers. If mold is actively growing, it’s also important to find and fix the moisture source.
No Ozone, No Ions, No UV
The P1000 produces no ozone, ions, UV light or chemicals. In fact, independent laboratory tests in Sweden found that Airfree reduces ozone by 26%. It doesn’t change room humidity, and the heat it adds is small: Airfree says two units in one room give off about as much heat as one adult.

Tips for Best Results
Keep it on. Airfree works gradually, so leave the P1000 plugged in 24 hours a day in the same room. Airfree estimates it takes one to two weeks to bring airborne contamination down to a much lower level, and that level holds as long as the unit stays on. Every room is different, so results depend on the space and how much contamination is coming in.
Place it low. Set it upright on the floor or on low furniture in the room you want to treat. If it isn’t upright, the light blinks to let you know.
Treat each room. A unit placed in a hallway cleans the hallway only, not the rooms around it.
Small spaces are fine. It can be used in a closed room or walk-in closet of at least 43 sq ft (353 cu ft), and in air-conditioned rooms.

Silent or Hybrid?
