The Airpura V400 and V414 are compact, high-powered air purifiers built to reduce airborne chemicals, VOCs, gases, and odors along with fine particles. Each unit holds 8 lbs of Airpura's enhanced, impregnated carbon blend, which adsorbs a wider range of VOCs and specific chemicals than standard activated carbon. That makes the V-series a strong choice for bedrooms, nurseries, home offices, and other smaller spaces where chemical sensitivity is the main concern. Both models cover up to 1,000 sq. ft. at 2 air changes per hour (ACH), depending on fan speed, and run as quiet as 32 dB on low.
Airpura V400: Enhanced Carbon with True HEPA
The V400 pairs 8 lbs of enhanced carbon with a 40 sq. ft. medical-grade True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. It's a balanced choice for households that want strong chemical and VOC reduction plus dependable protection from dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores.
Airpura V414: Enhanced Carbon with H14 Super HEPA
The V414 uses the same enhanced carbon bed, all-metal housing, and 395 CFM motor as the V400, but upgrades the particle filter to an H14 Super HEPA that captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns. We recommend the V414 for allergy and asthma sufferers, mold concerns, fine smoke particles, and anyone with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) who wants the highest level of particle capture alongside chemical reduction.
V400 vs. V414: What's the Difference?
The only difference between the two units is the particle filter. Everything else, including the housing, motor, pre-filter, and 8 lbs of enhanced carbon, is the same.
V400 – Medical-grade True HEPA (99.97% at 0.3 microns). A great fit for chemical and VOC concerns with typical household particles.
V414 – H14 Super HEPA (99.99% at 0.1 microns) for a higher level of particle capture. Best when fine particles matter as much as chemicals.
Both models use the same pre-filter and carbon filter. The 414 H14 HEPA filter also fits the V400, so you can upgrade to Super HEPA later if your needs change.
Balanced Protection Against Chemicals and Particles
Carbon and HEPA do different jobs. The carbon bed adsorbs VOCs, gases, and odors, while the HEPA filter captures particles like mold spores, pollen, and pet dander. The V400 and V414 give you both in one compact unit, with the same filtration quality and configuration as Airpura's larger V600 and V614. The variable-speed motor lets you set airflow for longer dwell time in the carbon bed, which improves VOC adsorption.

At high speed, the V400 / V414 delivers about 2 air changes per hour in 1,000 sq. ft. with 8-foot ceilings. For heavier chemical loads, more than 1 air change is necessary, and our clients frequently aim for 5 or more ACH depending on square footage.
