Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI®) produces positive and negative ions, which are found naturally in pristine environment locations (mountains, beaches). These charged ions seek out particulates in the air (bacteria, virus, aerosols, VOCs, etc), and rob them of life-sustaining hydrogen to deactivate them. NPBI® also causes particles to cluster together and become larger, which causes them to be caught by a filter better.
The Patented Needlepoint Bipolar Ionizations known as NPBI® technology works to safely clean the air inside your building. The patented technology uses an electronic charge to create a plasma field filled with a high concentration of + and – ions that replicate those commonly found in nature.
As these ions travel with the air stream they attach to particles, pathogens and gases/odors. As the ions attach to airborne particles (including fine, sub-micron particles) they are then attracted to each other, making the particulate more easily filterable and increasing capture efficiency.
The ions kill pathogens by robbing them of life-sustaining hydrogen. The ions breakdown harmful gases/odors into harmless compounds like O2, CO2, N2 and H2O.

Excellent Machine!!!
I own a fitness center and for the last 4 years we have had issues with a musty odor in our men's locker room. Between our steam room, showers, and sweaty men a lot of moisture gets trapped in this space and leads to a foul odor over time. After several attempts of masking the smell with air fresheners, carpet deodorizers, and ozone machines, we decided to try the BSE A-800 Air Filtration systems and installed two of them in the locker room. To my surprise the odor was completely gone in just under a week! I wanted to wait before leaving a review and now that we are almost 2 months in I am convinced this Air Filtration system has done the trick. I even had guys tell me they are dong their best to stink up my locker room but the new system has done a great job of fighting off the funk! I am extremely satisfied with the results I have seen and would highly recommend this product if you are dealing with any kind of odors in an indoor space!

Great for my musty closet
We have a cabin on the Oregon coast which has a lot of mildew/musty smells. We have a particularly smelly closet where I've never been able to get rid of the odor. I used the BSE 800 for an extended period inside the (walk in) 45sqft closet, running it on high for several weeks. I felt it did a good job of removing the smell. Each time I gave the closet the sniff test after running the BSE, the odor was much improved--which is impressive since the odor was something I've tried to get rid of, trying many different methods, for several years with no luck.
We also ran the unit in the main living area for about two weeks on medium. I did not notice any impact on the mustiness in the large area (abt. 600sqft). However, It may have worked if I'd run it on high and for a longer period.
I liked that it runs silently. It seems very effective in getting rid of hard-to-address musty odors.
